Install and use the BabyFlix Sync Utility

The BabyFlix Sync utility is a background application available for both Mac and Windows. It simplifies and automates the process of uploading ultrasound files to BabyFlix. Here's how it works:

1. Exporting Studies: When you export an ultrasound study to a USB drive or a network-attached storage (NAS) device, name the study with the customer's unique identification number (UID) from BabyFlix. Each exported file should begin with this UID (e.g., 21300_001, 21300_002, etc.).

2. File Detection and Upload: The BabyFlix Sync utility continuously monitors a specific location (USB or NAS). When it detects files named with the UID, it automatically uploads them to the correct account on BabyFlix and then deletes the files from the USB or NAS device.

How to Set Up the BabyFlix Sync Utility

1. Download the Utility:

   • Go to the BabyFlix website and log in.
   • In the upper right corner, select the "Downloads" option from the dropdown menu.
   • Choose the appropriate utility for your operating system (Mac or Windows).
   • Click "Download" (Mac) or "Direct Download" (Windows) to start downloading the installer.

2. Install the Utility:

   • Run the downloaded installer. Note that since the utility is not from an app store, you may need to manually allow the installation on your Mac or Windows system.
   • Once installed, launch the application. It will be titled babyflix-app.

3. Log In:

   • Open the BabyFlix Sync utility and log in using the same credentials you use for the BabyFlix website.

   • In the utility, navigate to the dropdown menu in the upper right corner and select "Change Directory."
   • Click the "Change Directory" button and select the path to your USB drive or network-attached storage device where the ultrasound files are stored.

   • Once configured, whenever the USB drive is connected or the NAS is accessible, the utility will automatically search for files that begin with customer numbers (UIDs), upload them to the correct account in BabyFlix, and delete them from the source location after successful upload.
